Used to trails and living in the mountains, Zoe Cosson did a literary residency in Providenza in October 2021.
"The writing will emerge from my discovery of the territory, from my presence in situ. I will let stories ferment in my winter cabin thought as an island laboratory. I will try to find a material in the word: to wander, to glean, to create a herbarium. Between sea and mountain, water stone salty wind and light, I will collect organic images and words. I will carry out field surveys. I will go to meet the living, the locals, those who are anchored in the landscape and say it. I will write from what my eyes capture and from what happens in the language, from what the memory keeps of traces, marks, snippets."
